Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal decided to setup a Rs. 20-crores smog tower in Connaught place, in addition to the central government’s smog tower coming up in Anand Vihar. This tower will suck the air from the top and release filtered air near the ground. Government has also passed tree transplantation policy, under which 80% of trees uprooted for any construction/development project , must be transplanted elsewhere. Payment will be made to the transplantation agency only if 80% of transplanted trees survive.
