Taiwan-based electronics group Asus announced on Wednesday it was launching a new smartphone which uses Google Tango 3D technology. Interestingly, the ZenFone AR is the world’s first Tango enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone. 

In terms of specifications, the Asus ZenFone AR features a 5.7-inch with a textured back and a very bright, sharp 2,560 – by – 1,440 Super AMOLED screen. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (Super Anti Scratch) for protection. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat on a fast Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 6GB/8GB LPDDR4 RAM and works with Google’s Daydream VR platform as well as Tango AR. It offers 32GB/64GB /128GB/ 256GB internal storage options and is also expandable up to 2TB.

The smartphone comes with a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 rear camera, and 8-megapixel front camera and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery.
