Chennai to receive rainfall over next two days

The city can expect more rain after the Sunday evening downpour as there is an ideal wind flow coupled with perfect at-mospheric conditions for the next few days.

“Widespread rain across entire North Tamil Nadu is expected for the next few evenings. Though sunny weather is expected during the day, storm situations are building up as the low level wind converges in north TN coast with the monsoon low up north,” says Weather blogger Pradeep John.

The regional meteorological department director, S Balachandran said that the temperatures are to remain normal, ranging from 35 degree Celsius to 38 degree Celsius. Some areas in South Tamil Nadu can also receive a considerable amount of rainfall, he added.

Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur, Villupuram, Kanyakumari and Chennai districts have been receiving rainfall below normal, mostly due to heat conditions that oppose monsoon rains.
