 Kolkata police arrested two Romanian nationals in Delhi  in connection with an alleged ATM fraudwhere Rs.20 lakh were siphoned off from bank accounts. “They were arrested in New Delhi on Friday. We have recovered about 20 fake debit cards and two passports from these two Romanian nationals,” Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police (Crime) Praveen Tripathi said. Police caught Dumitriu Colin,32 and Oprah Ovidiu Semiyun, 30 and they are in custody for 14 days. When the accused were installing skimmer devices they were identified by CCTV footage. Police received multiple complaints of money being withdrawn from bank accounts without the authorisation and knowledge of account holders. There were 76 complaints. Devices copied the details of debit cards were installed in unguarded ATM’s in South Kolkata. After investigation the police found that money was withdrawn from ATMs in New Delhi. The accused were nabbed after the police team kept a close watch on the ATM’s. They were the frequent visitors who installed skimmer devices.
