It’s my face, my body…I am not answerable to anyone: Shruti Haasan on lip job rumours
Shruti Haasan is one of the few South Indian actresses’ who has made a place for herself in Bollywood. The lovely actress, who is gearing up for her next Hindi feature film ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ release, has landed in a controversy pertaining to the fullness of her lips or, as some would like to call it, pillow lips.
Recently, the ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ star was trolled on social media for allegedly getting a lip job done. A defiant Shruti, while speaking to a leading tabloid, shut out her haters with a none-of-your-business answer. She said, “It’s my face, my body. What I do with it is nobody’s business. What people write about me on social media does not bother me. I am not answerable to anyone.”
The actress was also body-shamed in the recent past for her apparent weight gain, which was exclusively for her character in an upcoming film. Talking about it, Haasan Jr said, “Looking good is part of our job, but the unnecessary chatter about weight must be filtered. Maintaining an ‘acceptable’ figure for an actress is impossible. We are human. We gain and lose weight for roles and sometimes naturally too.”
Shruti’s ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ opposite Rajkummar Rao is slated to release on June 9.
The singer-turned-actress also made headlines after walking out of Sundar C’s ‘Sanghamitra’, the film she represented at the 70th edition of Cannes Film festival.
