LG launches rugged X venture phone on a budget

techLG on May 23 kicked off the sales of its LG X Venture smartphone worldwide.

The smartphone comes with a 5.2—inch (1080 x 1920) display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor.

LG claims the 5.2-inch LG X Venutre’s durability is similar to that of the flagship G6 smartphone. The phone offers 2GB RAM with 32GB storage support. The device’s storage could further be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The device includes a 4100mAh battery, which is said to be charged by 50 per cent in 48 minutes. In terms of camera, the smartphone features a 5MP front sensor that can capture 120 degree and 16MP camera on the back.

Certified with the IP68 water- and dust- resistance feature, LG X venture can operate 1.5 meters under water fro 30 minutes.

For users’ comfort, LG has added an extra physical button to launch apps and adjust settings. The device also features a glove mode that allows users to use the smartphone while wearing gloves. It operates on Android 7.0 Nougat.

The device will go on sale in the US from May 26 exclusively via AT&T at US $11 (Rs 737) per month for 30 months.

LG is yet to confirm the price and release date of the model for the Indian market.
