Aadhar not Mandatory for NET?

NET (National Eligibility Test) is conducted by UGC (University Grants Commission). A pass in NET or SET (State Eligibility Test) is mandatory for the candidates who pursue the posts of Assistant Professors in the college and universities.

The NET for this year will be organised by the NTA (National Testing Agency). NET is scheduled from 9th December to 23rd December. The online registration commences on 1st September and concludes on 30th September.

When the announcement for NET was released, it was mentioned that Aadhar card details will be mandatory. However, a lot of objections were raised for this. Subsequently, NTA has announced that Aadhar is not mandatory.
