The Union Government launched the BHIM app for UPI transactions on December 30, 2016 , and soon many banks and app like Phonepe incorporated it.  But it has gained momentum only very recently ,with many other players like google (with Tez app) and paytm adding this feature.   Now, its coming to Whats app too.  The Facebook – owned messaging platform is trying UPI – based payment for select ios and Android beta users.   It’s for only person – to – person payments, not for businesses registered on Whats App . There is no official word on widespread availability , but there have been many leaked images doing the rounds.   According to reports , the new feature will be added as an attachment ,where you find other features ,documents,camera,gallery.
