The Indian origin British PM Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murthy has not paid UK tax. Hence Mr. Rishi has come into limelight ,  months after his wife’s tax issue. If Sunak becomes the PM he had pledged to publish his tax return for which he was criticized when he was the Chancellor. Rishi said he would go by the pledge in Indonesia’s Bali where G 20 summit was held. When UK PM was asked whether he is ready to pay the returns in full he gave positive reply.  He added “That is the established precedent and I’d be very happy to follow the precedent. In terms of timing, I will have to speak to the Cabinet Office and figure out the right way that happens. But I have no problem doing that,” David Cameron had published tax returns in 2016. After that Sunak will become the first Prime Minister to do it. Akshata Murthy is the daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy. On her overseas income in UK she’s entitled to not pay taxes. In her case, this income runs into millions. Her dividends come close to $11.6 million from her father’s tech company. One has to pay tax to the treasury even normally on dividends. She was relieved of taxes because of her non–dom status.
