48,698 new Covid cases were reported in the past 24 hours – an decrease of 5.7 per cent over the previous day –  the Health Ministry said Saturday morning.

1,183 deaths linked to the virus were also reported. 

The total number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in India is now 3.01 crore and 3.94 lakh.
