In Uttarakhand’s Joshimath’s the residents are in a high grip of fear as cracks have begun to appear in houses. In this chilling weather  many families are at the risk of being homeless. “Over the last several days, cracks have appeared in some of our houses due to which we are living in panic. We have complained about it but the municipal corporation authorities are not taking any concrete actions and are only giving assurances. We are afraid that the houses may collapse,” Shashi, a local, said, reported news agency ANI. The pipeline that’s laid underneath is the reason . The locals say that there is a crack in it. A local Afsha Mashroor said that “It has been almost four days. We have informed the relevant departments, but no assistance has been provided so far. We are being forced to live in terror.” Bulldozers were brought along by the Civic body’s team observing the cracks in the houses. Citing security concerns Chief Engineer Satish Chandra instructed the people of the houses to be evacuated at the earliest. The Cracks under the road has lead to the cracks in the houses. The Corporation has issued a warning to the people who choked the flow of the drain.
