Over 18000 roles will be affected due to the present Amazon layoffs . Members of the PXT  (People, Experience, and Technology, aka HR) teams and of the Amazon Stores will have a massive layoff in the next round as per the company CEO Andy Jassy said in a blog post . Amazon typically communicates things internally. Now since the teammates leaked the information it’s been communicated in a public forum . CEO Jassy said that many teams will get affected since the lay -off process is on January 18. The impacted workers will receive a package as per the company posts. It will be a job placement support , insurance benefits and a payment while separation. The post reads, “We typically wait to communicate about these outcomes until we can speak with the people who are directly impacted. However, because one of our teammates leaked this information externally, we decided it was better to share this news earlier so you can hear the details directly from me. We intend on communicating with impacted employees (or where applicable in Europe, with employee representative bodies) starting on January 18.” Approximately 10K employees were laid off in November 2022. Members of the Device teams and books received backlash at that time.
