On Sunday at Ohio airport an American airlines flight had to make a safe landing . It was reported as the engine caught fire mid-air , after hitting a bird. “No one was injured, and the plane landed safely at John Glenn Columbus International Airport after 8 a.m. local time”, said the Federal Aviation Administration in a statement to CBS News. The aircraft was landed safely as told by airport authorities . “Emergency crews responded to an aircraft incident at CMH this morning involving a reported engine fire. The aircraft landed safely, and the airport is open and operational,” the airport authorities wrote in a tweet. On Sunday a Boeing 737 commercial jet returned to the airport in a span of 30 minutes. The plane was redirected after hitting a bird. Flight was actually to land at  Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The incident is being thoroughly probed by the authorities.  As per the CBS news the flight used only it’s own power in the airport to reach the gate. “The aircraft was taken out of service for maintenance and our team is working to get customers back on their way to PHX. Safety is our top priority and we thank our customers for their understanding.”
