After impressing the audience down south, it is known that the makers of the 2019 hit Telugu film, ‘Jersey’ are remaking the film in Hindi. The Hindi remake will also be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri, who has helmed the original and will star Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. The original film had background score and songs by Kollywood rockstar Anirudh Ravichander. Now, the latest buzz is that Anirudh has been roped in for the Hindi remake of the film as well.
Reports are that director Gowtam Tinnanuri, has roped in Anirudh for the Hindi remake as he feels that the composer’s work is the soul of the film. The film is about a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to cricket in his late thirties. The man is driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfill his son’s wish for a jersey as a gift.
It is well known that Anirudh is super busy with multiple films including Vijay’s ‘Beast’, Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’, Dhanush’s ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ and Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ among a few other films as well. While there were earlier reports that the Sachet-Parampara duo would be composing the music, looks like Anirudh will be composing music for the film.
The Hindi remake of ‘Jersey’ will also feature Pankaj Kapur and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles.
