Apple iPhone SE 3 is here. At an event called Peak Performance which was live-streamed on Tuesday night, the company announced the next iPhone SE. Dubbed the iPhone SE 3, the new phone comes with support for 5G networks and is powered by the Apple A15 Bionic processor, the same chipset that also powers the iPhone 13 series phones.

The iPhone SE 3 has been launched at a global price of $429. In India, the phone’s price will start from Rs 43,900. In India, the iPhone SE 3 will be available for preorder from March 11 and will be on sale in the market from March 18.

The price of the iPhone SE 3 means it is priced similar to how the iPhone SE 2 was priced earlier. The iPhone SE 3 will be available in three colours — midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED — and it will go on sale globally from March 18.

Apart from the latest iPhone chipset — the A15 Bionic — and support for 5G, the iPhone SE 3 is iterative to the iPhone SE 2. Like the A15 used in the iPhone 13 earlier, the chipset in the iPhone SE 3 has 6-core CPU and 16-core Neural Engine.

In other words, there are no big radical changes, and definitely not as far as the design is concerned. The iPhone SE 3 comes with a 4.7-inch screen and uses the same design with rounded edges that we have seen on an iPhone since the days of the iPhone 8. Unlike the iPhone 13 Series phones, it still sports a Touch ID. The phone also sports a water and dust resistant design with IP67 certification. Like the iPhone 13 series phones, the iPhone SE 3 also has a tougher glass layer on the front and rear.

This year we’ve built the most powerful and durable iPhone SE yet, with better battery life thanks to A15 Bionic, the same chip as our iPhone 13 lineup that also unlocks advanced camera features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing. “And with 5G, iPhone SE gives users faster downloads and uploads, higher quality video streaming, real-time interactivity in apps, and much more. Delivering the latest generation of technology and performance at this price is something only Apple can do.”

Similar to the iPhone SE 2, it also sports just one rear camera. The camera uses a 12-megapixel sensor and Apple says that due to the performance and features of the A15 Bionic chipset the new iPhone offers better photography performance compared to the iPhone SE 2.

In addition to the iPhone SE 3, Apple also launched new colour variants of the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro. Both iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro are going to be available in a new shade of green. The new variants of the iPhone 13 will be on sale from March 18.
