Apple Watch Series 7 is here. The latest Apple Watch model has been unveiled at the company’s California streaming event. It comes with a familiar look as the Series 6, though it packs a ton of new features. The first big visual change is a larger always-on Retina display.
The Apple Watch Series 7 models will be available in the US later this fall at a starting price of $399 (roughly Rs 30,000). For India, the company hasn’t revealed the prices yet and adds that all Apple Watch Series 7 models will be available later this year.
The Apple Watch Series 7 comes in five new Aluminium colours. It features fast charging that the company claims can charge the smartwatch from 0 to 80 per cent in 45 minutes. It runs on watchOS 8 and packs features that we saw on the Apple Watch Series 6. It comes with a full keyboard with QuickPath. It comes with features like ECG and a Blood Oxygen monitor. Apple claims that the Apple Watch Series 7 is the company’s most durable Apple Watch ever.

The Apple Watch Series 7 will offer users more screen real estate compared to the Apple Watch Series 6. The company confirms that the re-engineered Always-on Retina display on the Apple Watch Series 7 comes with slimmer borders that minimally change the smartwatch’s dimensions. In terms of numbers, the company says that the Apple Watch Series 7 features nearly 20 per cent more screen space and thinner borders at 1.7mm, which Apple says is 40 per cent smaller than what was there on the Series 6. Unlike what the leaks claimed, the Apple Watch Series 7 comes with familiar rounded corners.
The company showcased two new watch faces – Contour and Modular Duo. One big enhancement is said to be fast charging which is now said to be 33 per cent faster than previous models.
The all-new Apple Watch Series 7 has IP6X certification for dust resistance and WR50 for water resistance rating. Same as the Series 6 model, the new Apple Watch Series 7 comes with a heart rate sensor, ECG, and Blood Oxygen.
