An Indian model and a celebrated actress down south, Anjali is celebrating her 35th birthday today.  Anjali made her debut as an actress in the Tamil psychological thriller Kattradhu Thamizh, which was directed by Ram. After a few years, she grabbed the attention of the Tamil cinema audience with her performance in the film Angaadi Theru.

Director Vasantha Balan directed the film and that was the turning point in the actress’s career. Her acting won many hearts, not just in Tamil Nadu but across the globe. For her performance in Angaadi Theru, Anjali won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize and Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Born on June 16, in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, the talented actress hails from a traditional Telugu-speaking family. After completing her education, she began acting in short films, which paved the way for her entry into the film industry.

The versatile actress has delivered many blockbusters over a span of 15 years in her professional acting career. She has gone on to make a mark in Tamil as well as Telugu and Malayalam films like Mankatha, Engaeyum Eppothum, Kalakalappu, Taramani, Peranbu, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Balupu, Masala, Chitrangada, Payyans Rosapoo, among others.

On the work front, Anjali was last seen in Pawan Kalyan’s Telugu blockbuster Vakeel Saab, in which she was playing the lead as one among the three girls. The film also featured Nivetha Thomas, Ananya Nagalla, Prakash Raj, Naresh, Mukesh Rishi, Dev Gill, Subbaraju,  Anasuya Bhardwaj and Ananda Chakrapani in pivotal roles.
