As soon as the government announced the opening of theatres in Maharashtra, makers rushed to reveal the release dates of their films. Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited films – Sooryavanshi, Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, RakshaBandhan and Ram Setu – also got their respective release dates. However, no announcement was made about the actor’s other upcoming film Atrangi Re.

OTT MAY BE THE MEDIUM OF CHOICE FOR ATRANGI RE: AKSHAY KUMAR

Akshay wrapped Atrangi Re in March this year. Now, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Khiladi Kumar revealed that the makers of Atrangi Re are considering to release the film on OTT. Talking about the same, Akshay said, “To be honest, I haven’t yet included Atrangi Re in the list because we are still mulling over whether it should be a theatrical film or an OTT release. And OTT may simply be the medium of choice for Atrangi Re, as it looks right now.”

Akshay too thinks OTT would be the best platform to release Atrangi Re. He said, “The film has a fantastic, never-heard-before subject and story line. For me and Anand Rai, it is critical that the most suited platform is chosen for the film.”

ABOUT ATRANGI RE

Atrangi Re, directed by Aanand L Rai, is a cross-cultural love story. It features Sara Ali Khan in a double role. It is a love story in which Sara will be seen romancing Dhanush as well as Akshay.
