On the other hand, Rachin Ravindra, who fought hard and helped New Zealand seal a draw on his Test debut, picked up 3 wickets in the 2nd innings, denying Ajaz more wickets in Mumbai.

India wrapped up the 2nd Test by 372 runs, sealing a 1-0 series victory, extending their winning run in home series to 14. R Ashwin won the Player of the Series award for picking up 14 wickets and making crucial contributions with the bat in Kanpur and Mumbai.

It was a memorable outing for Ashwin as well as the India off-spinner became the fastest Indian to pick up 300 Test wickets at home. He completed the feat by picking up the decisive wicket on Monday morning at the Wankhede Stadium.
