Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 fame Mugen’s Kollywood career has begun to show a promising graph as the actor signed his second film Velan. The first look of the film was released last month. Today, the newbie actor has shared the character look from the film. 

Mugen took to his social media handle to share the same. He will be seen playing the titular character Velan which has been directed by Kavin Moorthy.  

Of late, the makers have been releasing the character look posters of the film on social media. The latest to add to the list is the protagonist Mugen itself. 

“Boom Here it’s #Velan character poster No 10 #Mugen as “VELAN” Directed by @kavin_dir produced by @SkymanFilms @kalaimagan20 @themugenrao @sooriofficial @DoneChannel1 @CtcMediaboy (sic),” wrote Mugen for the picture. 

Velan is touted to be a family entertainer with music by Gopi Sundar and cinematography by Gopi Jagadeeswaran. The film also stars Joe Malloori, Billy Murali, Thambi Ramaiah, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TM Karthik, Prankster Rahul, and Brigida Saga of Aaha Kalyanam (Youtube series) fame. 

Velan is being funded by Kalaimagan of Skyman Films International. “The story is primarily about a Tamilian and a Malayali. It also touches on the emotional father-son relationship between Mugen’s character and his father,” director Kavin was quoted as saying by Cinema Express. 

Earlier in 2020, Mugen Rao signed his debut Kollywood film titled Vettri. After 9 years, Anjana aka Anjana Alikhan of Veppam fame has come up with the new film which will mark the debut of Mugen and Femina Miss India 2018 Anukreethy Vas. The first look of the film was also released. 

It will be the debut production venture of Shirdi Productions and has Ratnavelu ISC wielding the lenses. Nivas K Prassana of Sethupathi fame will compose music for the film. The film also stars Polladhavan Kishore in an important role. 

The first look poster of the film had red sketches overshadowing a newspaper at the backdrop. The poster revealed a burning police jeep and the college identity card of Vettri R. To the side of the ID card, we see the ‘suspended’ symbol. The newspaper had the text ‘Tussle between police and students.’ 

It can be deduced from the first look that the film will be about engineering college students while police officers will play a significant role. Anjana’s Veppam marked the Tamil debut of actor Nani and actress Nithya Menon. The film also starred Karthik Kumar and Bindhu Madhavi. The film was produced by Gautham Menon in association with Elred Kumar.
