Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI has released an official notice, allowing an opt-out option for students registered for the July 2021 examination. The option is open for Final, Intermediate/ IPC and PQC Courses as well as CA Foundation Examinations scheduled to be conducted from July 5. Last attempt for old course for Final and IPC students has also been extended till November 2021 cycle.

As per the official notice, all the students who are personally infected or in case their grandparents/ parents/ spouse/ children/ siblings or co-habitants livin in the same premises are infected, he/she can then avail the opt-out option. This includes the carry over of the fee paid and exemptions granted.

The opt out examinations would be conducted with the November 2021 cycle. Also, the institute had agreed to extend the last attempt option for Final and IPC students of the old course to November cycle. Important points regarding the opt-out option are listed below.

  1. Only those who are infected or who live with someone who is infected can available this option
  2. Candidates would be required to submit his/her aadhar card along with the aadhar of the infected relative (as per the case) as well as a COVID-19 positive RT-PCR report
  3. The RT-PCR report has to be of a date which is on or after the date of issue of the announcement – i.e. June 21, 2021.
  4. Candidates who have opted out of any single paper would not be allowed to appear for any of the remaining paper in the session
  5. In case a candidate is registered for both first group and second group and has appeared for first group but opts out before the conclusion of the second group, then his result for only first group would be released and the opt-out option for only second group would be considered.

ICAI has also released the May/July Exam 2021 admit cards for the Final, Inter and Foundation examinations.  The notice is released on the official twitter handle of ICAI and would be made available online on icai.org soon
