Krafton has given out the criteria of phone eligibility for Battlegrounds Mobile India.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Battlegrounds Mobile India phone requirements are available on the Google Play Store.
  • Any phone with Android 5.1.1 or higher is compatible with the game.
  • Your phone has to have at least 2GB of RAM for Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Battlegrounds Mobile India release date may still not be clear, but Krafton dropped the bomb by releasing the beta version of PUBG Mobile’s India avatar on the Google Play Store. Unsurprisingly, the rush to download the new game ultimately resulted first in slow loading on the Google Play Store, and then the unfortunate message that the beta testing slots had got full. Everyone knew something like this would happen the moment Battlegrounds Mobile India would reach the Google Play Store. Those who have got it, well and good, but those who are still waiting should check whether their phone is supported or not.

Frankly, every new Android phone will be able to play Battlegrounds Mobile India. In the words of the game developer Krafton, “BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA recommended system requirements: Android 5.1.1 or above and at least 2 GB RAM memory.” This means that any new Android phone with at least 2GB of RAM. However, this rules out Android Go phones that have to have 1GB of RAM mandatorily for the OS. This would include some phones such as Tecno Spark 7, Samsung Galaxy M01 Core, among others. And most phones have 2GB of RAM at least, so they should be able to run Battlegrounds Mobile India.

However, having just 2GB of RAM on your phone does not translate into the best gaming experience for Battlegrounds Mobile India. The game, which is very much akin to PUBG Mobile, has several graphics settings that would need a boost in RAM and performance to be able to pan out speedily and effectively. You have options such as Ultra-HD and HDR in the game, which you are unlikely to be able to use on a 2GB RAM phone. The processor on your phone also has to be good enough. Most phones in the sub-Rs 20,000 range will be able to run Battlegrounds Mobile India well, let alone the premium ones with all sorts of bells and whistles, such as the OnePlus 9 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Another requirement that is very obvious is a stable internet connection. Krafton has not given out a recommended internet speed that you should have on your device, but a connection with low ping and at least 4-5Mbps speed should be enough to play the game. The ping is important: the lower the ping, the higher the data transfer speed between servers. You can use a speed test website to check the ping and internet download and upload speed.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is available to only a few users right now under beta testing, but its wider release is expected to take place soon. Krafton is likely to take some time before the beta testing for this version ends, but if you are someone who wants to enrol for the beta version, Krafton promised it will open more beta slots for people so that they can download Battlegrounds Mobile India and start playing it without much wait.
