Central gov ordered Aadhaar not mandatory

The central government has ordered telecom companies not to use Aadhaar card for cellphone connectivity.

In the Supreme Court’s judgment in the case of Aadhaar, the Aadhaar number was not mandatory for cell phone connection.

On the basis of this, the Department of Telecommunications has suggested that it should stop using the new simcard or the use of the existing biometric system to check existing customers.Customers can also get a copy of Aadhaar card.
