Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen took to Instagram and shared a picture of him from the hospital. He also thanked fans for their support, saying that he was ” feeling okay”.

In a good news, Denmark midfilder Christian Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest during his side’s match against Finland in Euro 2020, has himself given updates on his health.

The 29-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday and shared a picture of him from the hospital. In the picture, Eriksen showed a thumbs-up to his fans and thanked them for “sweet and amazing” messages from around the world.

Giving updates on his health, the Inter Milan footballer said that he was “feeling okay” and have to undergo some examinations at the hospital.

“Hello everyone. Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family. I’m fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay. Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark
Best,” he wrote alongside the picture.

The 29-year-old fell face-first on the pitch during the 42nd minute of Denmark’s match against Finland at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. Fans and fellow players were reduced to tears as the nature of the incident was scary. Eriksen’s partner, who was at the stadium, rushed to the pitch to check on the midfielder and was consoled by Denmark captain Simon Kjaer.

The Group B match was initially suspended but players from both teams urged the UEFA to complete the fixture on Saturday. It later emerged that Eriksen had called his teammates via a video conference from the hospital and urged them to resume the match.

Denmark team doctor also confirmed that he had spoken to Eriksen before he was taken to the hospital. There were plenty of speculations about Eriksen’s health after the collapse but a photographer on the field confirmed that Eriksen was conscious after his fall.

Denmark went on to lose their Group B opener 0-1 to Finland, who registered their first-ever win in the finals of a major competition. The Danish side will next face Belgium on Thursday.
