In Uttarpradesh a 7 year old girl  was locked up in a school after the staff went home without checking the classroom . It took place in Uttarpradesh’s  Sambhal district where the kid was locked up for 18 hours . On Wednesday morning school re-opened and then only the incident came to light. . On Tuesday after the school hours a class 1 student  of primary school in Dhanari Patti of Gunnaur tehsil was left behind said Block Education Officer Pope Singh. “She was found this morning when the school opened. The girl is fine,” the BEO said. The maternal uncle said when she did not return home on Tuesday the panicked grandmother reached school. Staff told that no children were left behind. Family searched for her in the forest area. It had come to light that the girl had remained locked in the school room overnight after the school opened at 8 am on Wednesday. The teachers and other staff members did not inspect the classroom after the class hours.  “It is a case of negligence and action will be taken against the entire staff,” said Block Education Officer Singh.
