Acold wave is likely to sweep the Vidarbha region in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
The average temperature is expected to be around 8 degrees Celsius in the region, according to the weather agency.
On Tuesday, Nagpur recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded was 27.1 degrees Celsius. On Monday, Nagpur recorded a minimum temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has also forecast cold wave conditions in isolated pockets over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. Dense fog is very likely in isolated pockets of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday as well.
Meanwhile, cold wave conditions continued to sweep Delhi on Tuesday as the minimum temperature at Safdarjung Observatory, considered to be the city’s official marker, dipped to four degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.
On Monday, the national capital had reeled under a cold wave as the minimum temperature had dropped to 3.2 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal and the lowest so far this season.
In the plains, the IMD declares a cold wave if the minimum temperature dips to 4 degrees Celsius. A cold wave is also declared when the minimum temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or below and is 4.5 notches below normal.
