NASA have announced the design contest ,which mentions to design a toilet which will work both in the micro gravity of space ,or “zero-g” and on the moon. NASA is looking forward for your marvelous constructions to offer $35000 in prizes . since NASA is planning to send astronauts to the moon by 2024 ,toilets will be more necessary for them . so NASA will adapt this design of yours for it’s Artemis lunar lander,so it will need to work on micro gravity of space as well as “zero-g” and on the moon according to the design guidelines posted by NASA and HeroX.

As first women were also planned for the journey to the moon, design must be able to accommodate men and women. the toilets must be Odors free, good conservation of water and to provide clean environment inside the lander.

It should be fitting for crew of two astronauts for 14 days and possibility for the collected waste to storage or fro disposal outside the vehicle. toilet should be easy to clean and also needs to use minimum of 70 watts of power and to be noiseless when compared to the average bathroom fan. space is the big concern so the toilet needs to weigh less than 33 pounds on earth.
