Delhi’s Commissioner of Police Rakesh Asthana on Friday interrogated Pakistani terrorist Ashraf Ali, who was arrested in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar last month.

According to police sources, the police commissioner reached the office of Delhi Police’s Special Cell at 10 am on Friday and interrogated Ashraf Ali for hours.

Ashraf Ali was arrested last month by the police from Laxmi Nagar area. The police claimed that the terrorist had been living in India for the last 10-15 years and was planning to carry out terror attacks in the national capital. Weapons and fake identity cards were also recovered from him.

According to sources, Ashraf Ali was taken by the Special Cell team to Gujarat where his narco test was conducted for six days. On October 3, Ashraf Ali was brought back to Delhi.

During the narco test, about 70 to 75 questions were asked to Ashraf Ali — most of which were related to his role in the terrorist attacks in India and especially in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ashraf Ali was also questioned about the blast in the Delhi High Court, in which he revealed that two people who came from Pakistan had carried out the blast.

Sources said that Ashraf Ali is highly trained by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and he was evading the police’s questions. However, the police have managed to prepare a sketch of three suspects based on his inputs. One of the suspects is believed to be a religious scholar, sources said.

Sources said that Ashraf Ali was being helped by someone in Delhi who provided him with logistical support to carry out terror attacks.
