Facebook will soon make it easier for users to split payments for dinners, house rent etc. The social media app announced that Facebook is testing the split payments feature for users in the United States. Users can use this feature to split the bills at a dinner party or even divide the house rent feature. ‘

The Split Payments feature will let users invite other people to split a bill and can decide the amount each person will pay. The users can ask people in a group to pay and also check if the people invited to pay the amount have paid or not

“If you’ve struggled with dividing up (and getting paid back for) group dinners, shared household expenses or even the monthly rent, it’s about to get easier. Here is how the feature works

— To use the Split Payments feature, click on the “Get Started” button in a group chat

— Using the feature, you split a bill evenly or modify the contribution amount for each individual.

— Once you enter a personalised message, you can confirm your Facebook Pay details

— Once the request is sent it will be viewable in your group chat thread.

Apart from the split payments feature, Facebook has rolled out Soundmojis and additional group effects. The bill splitting feature is currently available in the beta stage and will be exclusive to the US at first.
