Gaja cyclone; Alert in coastal districts

Minister of R.B. Udhaya Kumar said that 6 thousand 812 relief camps are ready to keep people in areas affected by the ‘Gaja’ cyclone.

All the coastal districts are ready. Similarly, the collector’s headquarters are ready in the districts of Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Madurai, Dindigul, Theni and Karur between Cuddalore-pamban.

In the coastal districts, 2,559 locations have been identified as vulnerable areas. 410 Venture Officers in Zones are engaged in intensive surveillance work in areas affected. 22 thousand 495 people, including 7 thousand 158 women, are ready to rescue operation
