  • Gold is trading at Rs 47,500 per 10 grams on the MCX.

Both gold and silver prices have recorded a dip on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), on August 6, 2021. Gold futures maturing on October 5 stand at Rs 47,500 per 10 grams on the MCX, recording a dip of Rs 79 or 0.17 per cent.

Meanwhile, silver futures maturing on September 3 stand at Rs 66,819 per kg, witnessing a dip of Rs 207 or 0.31 per cent. Yesterday, when the market closed, while gold was at Rs 47,603 per 10 grams, silver was trading at Rs 66,998 per kg on the MCX.

On Thursday, gold stood at Rs 47,847 per 10 grams on the MCX, recording a dip of Rs 35 or 0.07 per cent, while silver futures maturing on September 3 were at Rs 67,488 per kg.

Gold and Silver prices on international market:

As per Reuters, gold eased on Friday, clinging to the key psychological $1,800 level as the dollar firmed, while investors awaited a key U.S. jobs report to gauge the Federal Reserve’s future policy stance.

Spot gold fell 0.2 per cent to $1,799.84 per ounce by 0331 GMT, set for its worst weekly performance since mid-June. U.S. gold futures eased 0.4 per cent to $1,801.80. The dollar index drifted higher, making gold less appealing for holders of other currencies.

The U.S. non-farm payrolls report is due at 1230 GMT, reported Reuters. Indicative of sentiment, holdings in SPDR Gold Trust, the world’s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, fell to 1,027.61 tonnes on Thursday. Silver fell 0.2 per cent to $25.09 per ounce and was down about 1.5 per cent for the week.
