On September 3, 2021, both gold and silver are trading on the higher side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Witnessing a hike of Rs 90 or 0.19 per cent, gold futures maturing on October 5, 2021, stand at Rs 47,095 per 10 grams on the MCX.

Meanwhile, silver futures maturing on December 3, 2021, are retailing at Rs 63,389 per kg, recording a jump of Rs 79 or 0.12 per cent.

Yesterday, gold stood at Rs 47,049 per 10 grams, recording a hike of Rs 4 or 0.01 per cent. Silver was retailing at Rs 63,977 per kg, with a downfall of 0.03 per cent or Rs 16.

Gold and Silver Prices on International Market

As per Reuters, gold prices rose on Friday after the dollar weakened, with investors awaiting the U.S. jobs data to gauge the Federal Reserve’s plans to start tapering asset purchases, although for the week, the metal was headed for its first decline in four.

Spot gold rose 0.2 per cent to $1,813.15 per ounce by 0327 GMT and was down 0.2 per cent on a weekly basis. The report suggested that U.S. gold futures were up 0.2 per cent at $1,815.50.

The dollar index fell to a one-month low, bolstering gold’s appeal to those holding other currencies. The greenback was headed for a second straight weekly decline.

The SPDR Gold Trust, the world’s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, said its holdings fell 0.2% to 998.52 tonnes on Thursday, the lowest since April 2020. Silver rose 0.2 per cent to $23.92 per ounce.
