Both gold and silver are trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Witnessing a marginal drop of Rs 157 or 0.30 per cent, gold futures maturing on April 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 51,784 per 10 grams on the MCX.

Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on May 5, 2022, stood at Rs 68,566 per kg, recording a drop of 0.58 per cent or Rs 401.

Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 51,876 per 10 grams and Rs 68,836 per kg respectively when the market closed on March 25.

Gold and silver prices on the international market:

As per Reuters, gold prices fell on Monday as hopes of progress in Russia-Ukraine peace talks to be held this week dented safe-haven demand for bullion, while a stronger U.S. dollar and higher yields further weighed on the metal.

As per the latest metal report, spot gold fell 0.5 percent to $1,947.90 per ounce. Meanwhile , U.S. gold futures were down 0.2 percent at $1,949.70.

In addition to this, spot silver fell 1.2 percent to $25.21 per ounce, among other metals.
