On Saturday in Mangaluru two people were injured in an explosion that occurred inside an autorickshaw that was on the move. The police used fire a day after the explosion , investigations are going on to check the terror links in the case . An autorickshaw driver and a passenger suffered serious injuries due to the mangaluru blast. Karnataka Director General of Police Praveen Sood on Sunday said a deep probing of the whole incident is taking place and it is an act of terror being the blast a mysterious one. “It’s confirmed now. The blast is not accidental but an act of terror with intention to cause serious damage. Karnataka State Police is probing deep into it along with central agencies,” the DGP said in a tweet. Dog squad and a bomb disposal squad was immediately sent along with a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) officers to Mangaluru. The accused has been identified as Mohammed Shariq. This autorickshaw driver is the main suspect in the case. He was already booked in terror case and he was absconding. Before reaching the pre – decided location itself the blast occurred. Passenger was seated in it. There were many terror links for the suspect as he had travelled to various places. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said “Prima facie, this is a terror act. The places he had travelled to such as Coimbatore or any other places clearly point to his terror link,”. For Investigation along with State Police Intelligence Bureau (IB) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials have also joined.
