In an eight-day special drive, the Hyderabad Police booked over 1.66 lakh traffic violators. The special drive was executed by the traffic police with assistance from some police stations and City Armed Reserve officers from Petlaburj.

Here is a list of the major violations for which people were booked as per a press note issued by Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar:

Riders not wearing helmets: 60,000
Pillion riders not wearing helmets: 27,306
Wrong parking: 9,912
Parking on service roads: 5,942
Driving without licence: 5,710
Parking in carriageways: 4,736
Drunk driving: 2,399
Over speeding/dangerous driving: 2,397
Allowing unauthorised person to drive: 2,280
Triple riding: 2,008
Using cell phone while driving: 650

Apart from these, other violations included improper number plates, not wearing a face mask, driving in the opposite direction, jumping signals and not wearing a seat belt.
