For the next 48 hours at isolated places in Maharashtra there is a heavy rainfall warning. On Monday night there was shower in parts of Mumbai and in Mumbai’s Sion neighbourhood  waterlogging was visible.  On Monday parts of the city was inundated due to moderate rains and a yellow alert has been issued. Dr. Anupam Kaashyapi from IMD Pune who is the head of the weather forecast department said “For the next 48 hours, very heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Maharashtra. There will be Cumulonimbus cloud formation at Pune and Ahmednagar district border and widespread rainfall is expected over the next four days .“ In Uttarakhand some areas like Bageshwar, champavat, Pithoragarh and Nainital have been declared a yellow alert zone by the regional weather department of Dehradun. From September 14 to September 16 an orange alert has been issued  for heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas of  Uttarakhand. The weathermen have cautioned people to stay away from rivers. On Monday it was hot and humid but rain lashed parts of the city on intervening nights between Monday and Tuesday.
