On Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom,  Rishi Sunak.  They exchanged greetings personally but there were interpreters who sat through the conversation between the two Prime Ministers. An early conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two sides was emphasized by Mr.Modi.  This was supposed to be done by Diwali by the previous administration but it had to setback due to the political changes England witnessed in the last two months . Prime Minister Modi  after his meeting with Sunak tweeted   “Glad to speak to @RishiSunak today. Congratulated him on assuming charge as UK PM”. He added “We will work together to further strengthen our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. We also agreed on the importance of early conclusion of a comprehensive and balanced FTA”. (sic). Prime Minister Sunak also thanked Modi for his kind words as he is ready to get into the new role. Sunak tweeted “The UK and India share so much. I’m excited about what our two great democracies can achieve as we deepen our security, defence and economic partnership in the months & years ahead.” Free Trade Agreement will enhance the economic growth and prosperity and many other additions for more productivity. The fifth round of FTA got over on 29 July 2022.
