The new iPhone is here. Apple has debuted the iPhone 13 with a host of upgrades and new features at its California streaming event. The new-age iPhone comes with a faster processor, better cameras and yes, a larger battery life than before.

The improvements have been seen across the new iPhone lineup. Focusing on the non-Pro models here, Apple has come out with the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini as the latest iterations of the respective iPhone models. Both the devices sport a very similar design to their predecessors but promise much more on functionality than before.

For the slight design tweaks, Apple has made the notch at the front with the selfie camera smaller on both the iPhones. The iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini now also come with diagonally arranged lenses on the camera module at the back, unlike the vertical arrangement of the lenses as seen on the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini.

The iPhone 13 now also comes with ceramic glass on the front. It now features an IP68 durability rating and a 28 per cent brighter Super Retina XDR display than before. The display size on the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini stands at 6.1-inch and 5.4-inch respectively.

Apple has also equipped the new iPhones with A15 Bionic processor. Apple says that it is 50 per cent faster than any competing chipset and promises a 30 per cent faster GPU performance through its 4-core GPU. Machine learning performance is also said to be much faster than before.

Both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini now feature sensor-shift image stabilization on their cameras, a technology only seen in iPhone 12 Pro Max until now. The camera module now also features a new 12-megapixel custom-designed ultra-wide lens, leading Apple to call it the “most advanced dual-camera system” on an iPhone till now.

In addition to this, Apple has introduced a brand new Cinematic mode in video recording. The technology helps blur the background in a video and switches between background and foreground focus.

Apple claims that the iPhone 13 will support 5G in more places than ever before. This is through more partnerships with more telecom companies.

A big upgrade is that of the battery backup on the iPhone 13 vis-a-vis the iPhone 12. Apple says that the iPhone 13 will last 2.5 half hours longer than the iPhone 12. Similarly, iPhone 13 mini is claimed to last 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 mini.

Both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be available in five aluminum colours, including (PRODUCT) RED, starlight, midnight, blue, and pink. iPhone 13 mini has been priced at Rs 69,900 for the base variant with 128GB storage. That’s right, there is no 64GB storage variant this time.

The 256GB storage option will cost Rs 79,900, while the 512 GB option will cost Rs 99,900. As for the iPhone 13, the 128GB option will retail at Rs 79,900 and 256GB storage will cost Rs 89,900. The top variant with 512GB storage will be priced at Rs 1,09,900.
