Jharkhand Academic Council, JAC 10th 12th Board Exams 2021 are cancelled. Jharkhand Government announced its decision on Thursday to cancel the Class 10, 12 board examinations in the state. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren.

Taking to Twitter, Soren wrote that he has decided to cancel the Class 10 12 board examinations conducted by JAC for this session in view of the ‘circumstances arising out of COVID-19 and the demand of the students and parents.

No update on the process of evaluation has been announced. Like the other state boards, it is expected that JAC may announce its internal assessment criteria after CBSE’s decision.

Earlier this month, JAC had dismissed the cancellation message which had gone viral and shared that no decision had been taken. Many students and parents had taken to twitter requesting for the examinations to be cancelled.

With Jharkhand government’s decision, almost all the state boards in the country now have been cancelled. Only Assam has shared that it would conduct the examinations in July. However, Chief Minister of Assam has said that the exams would be conducted only if positivity rate drops below 2 per cent.

The decision by State Boards follow the announcement by Central Board of Secondary Education to cancel the class 12 examinations. PM Narendra Modi, while asking for the exams to be cancelled had also urged ‘all stakeholders’ to be sympathetic towards students.
