On Wednesday’s in the country’s capital people were continuing to gasp for fresh air as a layer of smog covered the city . Due to smog the air quality deteriorated . System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) have released a data. In Delhi overall Air Quality Index (AQI) worsened from 321 on Tuesday to 339 on Wednesday. The unfavourable meteorological conditions will make the air quality become worse over the next few hours. From November 11 there are chances of considerable improvement with the windspeed being 15 to 20 kmph. In parts of Delhi NCR too the situation is the same. Air Quality Index of  Gurugram is at 338 (very poor category)   Noida’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 371 (very poor category) . The parameter of AQI is as follows. If it’s got to be good it should be between 0 and 50. “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor”, and 401 and 500 “severe”. On Monday farm fires in punjab dropped from 2,487 to 605 on tuesday. On the same day their share in Delhi’s pollution dropped. At Palam and Safdarjung airports the visibility levels reduced due to the haze. Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather said that the air quality will have chance of improving on Friday. “Though the contribution of stubble burning is not significant, calmer local winds are slowing the accumulation of locally generated pollutants,” he said . From Friday onwards there  will be an increase in the windspeed upto 15-20 kmph.
