The Guna Police in Madhya Pradesh has registered a case against a man for allegedly raping his daughter-in-law while his son was away at school.

The woman on Thursday approached the Myana police station in Guna district, claiming that her father-in-law had raped her while her husband had gone to school and is now threatening to kill her.

The woman, a 21-year-old from Rajasthan, was married to a 22-year-old man from Guna. The woman’s husband, who is a student of Class 12, accompanied his wife to the police station to lodge the complaint.

According to the police, the woman’s husband had enrolled himself as a student of Class-12 in Guna town. He used to travel from his village to school every day. “The woman alleged that she had been raped by her father-in-law while her husband had gone to school and that he was now threatening to kill her. The woman also alleged that her father-in-law was in possession of several illegal weapons, which he often brandished while threatening members of the family,” police said.

The victim further alleged that he had raped other women in the family and threatened them to keep quiet. The suspect, however, claimed that he was being framed because of a property dispute in the family.

The police, after preliminary investigations, registered a rape case but the suspect has not been arrested so far. “We have registered a rape case on the basis of the complaint and are looking into other allegations,” police said.

The complainant’s father is associated with a political party in Rajasthan. Her husband alleged that his father, who owns several weapons, had threatened to kill him if he backed his wife.
