Megastar Chiranjeevi took to social media to wish Amitabh Bachchan on his 79th birthday. He shared a throwback picture with Big B, which was taken on the sets of the Telugu film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Amitabh Bachchan played a cameo role in the period film. Calling Big B his brother and guru, Chiranjeevi penned a heartfelt birthday wish to the legend.

Amitabh Bachchan did not even charge a penny for his cameo in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. When Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi offered him flight tickets and accommodation, he politely refused and revealed that he was doing the role out of love.

Taking to Twitter on October 11, Chiranjeevi wished his big brother Amitabh Bachchan a happy birthday. He wrote, “Wishing My Beloved Big Brother, My forever Guru, the One and Only Amit Ji @SrBachchan a very Happy Birthday. Many Many Happy Returns!! Health, Happiness and More Power to You Amit ji!! (sic)

WHEN RAM CHARAN SPOKE ABOUT AMITABH’S CAMEO IN SYE RAA

Ram Charan was the producer of his father Chiranjeevi’s period film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film hit the theatres in 2019 and received a positive response from critics and audience alike.

In an interview to Film Companion, Ram Charan said, “He didn’t even charge for his flight tickets. We couldn’t push him after a point.” Chiranjeevi added, “That is a great thing. That way, Mr Bachchan didn’t even allow me to keep a private jet for his travel. I asked him about his accommodation and he said that he’s doing it for our friendship. We know each other for a long time. That way we are so lucky to have him on board.”

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy chronicles the story of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Set in the 1850s, the film starred Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Vijay Sethupathi, Kichcha Sudeep, Ravi Kishan and Jagapathi Babu in important roles.
