Xiaomi had launched the Mi 11 Lite in India last week. The smartphone had already gone on pre-orders starting June 25 and will be up for sale for the first time this afternoon. Mi 11 Lite is the fourth smartphone in the Mi 11 series after Mi 11X, Mi 11X Pro and Mi 11 Ultra. It is also company’s first smartphone that doesn’t focus on hardware but, aims to provide a good-looking device at a decent price. The Mi 11 Lite competes against the iQOO Z3, OnePlus Nord CE 5G and Xiaomi’s own Redmi Note 10 Pro Max in India.

Xiaomi has interestingly launched only the 4G variant of the Mi 11 Lite in India. The highlight of the smartphone is its lightweight, and sleek form factor. The Mi 11 Lite is just 6.81mm in thickness, and weights 157grams. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor, a 10bit 90Hz AMOLED display, and a 4,250mAh battery.

Mi 11 Lite: Price in India and offers

Mi 11 Lite price in India starts at Rs 21,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs Rs 23,999. The storage on both these variants is expandable using the microSD card. Xiaomi has announced a Rs 1500 discount for HDFC Bank credit and debit card customers. The smartphone will sell through mi.com, and flipkart.com starting 12:00 PM today.

Mi 11 Lite: Specifications and features

Mi 11 Lite features a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2400×1080 pixel resolution, HDR10 certification, 800nits peak brightness, 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz sampling rate. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G mobile processor and runs MIUI 12 based on Android 11.

For photography, the phone gets a 64-megapixel primary shooter, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel telemacro sensor. For the selfies, the handset offers a 16-megapixel shooter on the front. The smartphone packs a 4,250mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, a stereo speaker setup.

Who should buy Mi 11 Lite?

Any normal smartphone user that wants a light and slim smartphone can consider the gorgeous Mi 11 Lite which is available in three colour options. The smartphone is extremely lightweight, comfortable to hold and offers a great in-hand experience. The display is stunning and probably the best for streaming content in this price range. The 10-bit panel used by Xiaomi truly brings visuals to life.

The other reason for you to spend on the Mi 11 Lite are probably its cameras. The main camera and macro lens stand out from the triple rear camera setup. The colours, dynamic range and details are all great in most pictures. The selfies also come out good.

Who shouldn’t buy Mi 11 Lite?

If you are a tech fanatic or a gaming enthusiast, Mi 11 Lite’s hardware might fail to impress you. The processor used here is the same as on the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max without 5G support. The gaming performance is certainly better on the Poco X3 Pro and iQOO Z3. The latter also supports 5G connectivity.

Another reason to skip the Mi 11 Lite is the battery life. Xiaomi has done exceptionally well to fit in a 4250mAh battery on the smartphone but, you can easily get 5000mAh battery packs within the same segment and even for less.
