NEET 2021 Result Updates | Supreme Court has asked NTA to re-examine the question contested by a panel of three experts. The hearing has been next scheduled for November 30, further delaying the NEET 2021 Counseling Schedule.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021 Result continues to be under scrutiny. Following the discussions and submissions, National Testing Agency, NTA has informed the Supreme Court to examine the alleged errors in the translation of the NEET 2021 question paper in Hindi in regards a particular Physics Question. The counseling for NEET UG 2021 for All India Quota Seats is also pending due to the same.

Supreme Court bench  of Justices DY Chandrachud, Surya Kant and Vikram Nath was hearing a plea that has contested the final answer key released by NTA, raising concerns over a Physics question. As per the plea, the Question number 2 of the Physics Question of P2 set was incorrectly translated from English to Hindi, thus changing the answers for Hindi and English. The petitioners have asked for the question to be removed and all students who attempted the question to be awarded marks.

Solicitor General, Tushar Mehta appeared for NTA and has submitted that the issue was examined by three neutral experts. “We requested 3 neutral experts, one knowing only Hindi, one knowing only English and One knowing both. They said that irrespective of this, the answer would be the same. Our personnel says that the answer remains the same irrespective of the both,” he submitted to the bench.

Petitioner’s counsel, Advocate Archana Pathak Dave contested that the Hindi version did not have the word amplitude. Accordingly, the context of the answer changes. She also pointed out that as many as 2 lakh students have opted for the Hindi paper for NEET UG exam.

The bench noted that the contention was that there are two questions which are separate and both the answers are thus correct. The bench has asked NTA to re-examine the issue and suggested the same be done by a panel of three other experts. The suggestion has been accepted and the next hearing would be held on November 30.

NEET UG Counseling 2021 Delayed

In view of the on-going case, the NEET 2021 Counseling for the All India Quota seats is likely to be delayed further. The outcome of the hearing would impact the NEET 2021 Result, consequently leading to changes in the ranks and possible counseling outcome. Students who are waiting for the counseling schedule are hence advised to be patient as it is expected to begin only in December now.
