National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021 exam is scheduled to be conducted on August 1, 2021. Tamil Nadu government has constituted a high-level committee to study the impact of the NEET 2021 on medical admissions. Taking it forward, the government has asked the general public to share their opinion on NEET 2021 latest by June 23, 2021.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu CM M.K Stalin had written a letter to the Prime Minister to cancel all national level entrance tests, including NEET 2021. The CM is likely to discuss the examination and various other issues with PM Modi today, on June 17, 2021, at 5 pm.

As per the local daily, the notice reads, “Public opinion is invited and the same may be sent in not exceeding five pages on or before June 23, 2021, either by email or post or may drop in the box kept at the committee office in Director of Medical Education campus. The email ID to send opinions is neetimpact2021@gmail.com.”

NEET 2021: Committee formed by TN Government

NEET exam was first introduced in the year 2012. Several states, including Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, had strongly opposed the examination. To take a firm decision on the impact of the NEET 2021 exam on medical admissions, the government has formed a committee. The committee led by the retired judge of the Madras High Court, Justice AK Rajan, has been asked to submit the report in a months’ time. 

The government will plan its next course of action based on the recommendations on NEET 2021 from the committee. The opinion from the general public will also play a vital role in the government’s action. All the stakeholders are hereby advised to share their opinion on NEET 2021 by June 23, 2021.
