There is a decline in Netflix’s subscriber base . On Tuesday  it released  a  statement of it’s  second quarter earnings ( Q2 2022) and an earnings interview was also conducted.  The first time in it’s history  a  subscription losses for two consecutive years was highlighted.  The expected subscribers to be lost  was around 2 million figures  but it lost nearly  970, 000 paid  subscribers in the june quarter  which is still better. The skyrocketing business enterprise lost nearly  200,000 paid subscribers in the March quarter ( Q1 2022). Membership rate stands at 220.67 million paid subscribers worldwide. Recently most popular English show  –  Stranger  things Season – 4  volume 1 & 2 leads to an expectant addition of million subscribers next quarter. Two other popular shows like Better call Saul and Peaky Blinders, have add –on episodes which may boost the Q3 subscriber base.

 About the Q3 2022 the company executives remain optimistic . There was a growth in revenue in in Q3 2022 despite a  fall in the subscriber base. In its quarterly report, Netflix says, “The appreciation of the US dollar (USD) vs. most other currencies since our April earnings report was the primary reason for the variance to our revenue guidance forecast”.. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said, “If we launched the product [ad-supported subscription] today, the members in the ad tier would have a great experience. We will clear some additional content, but certainly not all of it, but we don’t think it’s a material holdback to the business.”  Netflix had talks  with famous production houses to introduce the ad – supported subscription  model.
