  In Karnataka a video clip of a nine-year-old girl is circulated in Social media. She is from Sakleshpur taluk  and is seen appealing to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to tackle elephant menace . She asked for compensation to farmers. The girl named Vismaya, a class 3 student of Hosagadde shot the video with the help of  her family members. She is appealing to  the Chief Minister to take immediate action to stop the menace. The damage caused to the agricultural lands by the elephants in the Taluk is also told. Her father Shashidhar,a farmer said “After I watched it, I shared the clip with my friends. Now, it has gone to many people,”. Residents affected by elephants  belonged to villages like Hosagadda,Rajendrapura, chinnahalali and many villages.  “I have lost my paddy crop. Now, we are worried about the safety of our lives. My children see herds moving about 100 metres from our house every day. The efforts of the Forest Department to tackle the menace have not yielded any result,” he said.Elephants are roaming in partrs of Alur and Sakleshpur taluks in three to four groups which has been separated. Many people have been killed due to this. Recently, the Forest Department conducted an operation and successfully radio-collared two elephants and captured one tusker.
