Odisha Police Recruitment Board would begin the recruitment process for 721 Sub-Inspector and Constable posts from June 22, 2021. The online notification would be released on the official website odishapolice.gov.in. In a first, Odisha Police Board has allowed the recruitment of transgender for the posts notified. General Duty and Communication posts would be filled.
In extracts released on the official website, the board has clarified that as many as 477 SI and 244 Constable posts would be filled by means of Odisha Police Recruitment 2021. The online application process is likely to begin from June 22 and end on July 15, 2021. Tentatively, the examination is expected to be conducted in August 2021. On the decision to allow transgender to apply, Meera Parida Chairman, All Odisha Transgender Welfare Association said: “We thank to the Chief Minister and Home Department for taking this decision towards gender equality and the development of the Transgender Community. This step will not only boost their confidence but will also change the perception of the society towards transgender persons.”
Odisha Police Recruitment 2021: Constable posts’ eligibility
Candidates interested in applying for Constable posts must have passed Class 12 examination from CHSE Odisha or an equivalent board. Candidates are also expected to be proficient in local language and must have studied it in the higher secondary exams. Those who have completed Diploma courses are also eligible.
Barring the exceptions allowed, candidates should not be below 18 years of age or older than 23 years of age as on January 1, 2021 (i.e. first day of January of the year the notification is released). Odisha Police Recruitment 2021: SI posts’ eligibility
For applying for SI posts, candidates must be graduates from any recognized university of the country. Also, the candidates should be able to speak, read and write Odia with a passing mark in M.E school or higher examinations in Odia language or Odia as a medium of instruction.
