On Monday, Jack Dorsey announced his resignation from the post of Chief Executive Officer at Twitter, making way for 37-year-old IITian Parag Agrawal. Until now playing the part of Chief Technology Officer, Parag Agrawal took charge as Twitter CEO immediately.

Parag Agrawal is only the newest member in a growing club of Indians holding the top-most posts at global tech companies. Here’s a list:

Parag Agrawal – Twitter

Alumnus of IIT Mumbai and Stanford University, 37-year-old Parag Agrawal joined Twitter in 2011 and became the CEO in 2021.

Satya Nadella – Microsoft

Hyderabad-born Satya Nadella took over from Steve Ballmer as CEO of Microsoft in 2014. This year, he was also made the chairman of the company.

Sundar Pichai – Alphabet

Born in Madurai, 49-year-old Sundar Pichai was appointed as the CEO of Google in 2015. He joined the company in 2004.

Shantanu Narayen – Adobe

Shantanu Narayen was appointed the CEO of Adobe in 2007. Before that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for two years. He joined the company in 1998. He was born in Hyderabad and also completed his Bachelor’s degree in the city.

Arvind Krishna – IBM

IITian Arvind Krishna has been the CEO of IBM since April 2020, after 30 years at the company. He also became the chairman in January 2021.

Sanjay Mehrotra – Micron Technology

CEO of Micron Technology since 2017, Sanjay Mehrotra is the co-founder of SanDisk and served as its president until it was acquired by Western Digital.

Nikesh Arora – Palo Alto Networks

Alumnus of Banaras Hindu University, Nikesh Arora was named CEO of Palo Alto Networks in 2018 after having worked at Google and SoftBank.

Jayshree Ullal – Arista Networks

Jayshree Ullal has been the CEO of Arista Networks since 2008. Before that, she worked with AMD and Cisco. She did her Bachelor’s degree at San Francisco State University and her Master’s from Santa Clara University.

George Kurien – NetApp

Princeton and Stanford University alumnus George Kurien became the CEO and president of data storage company NetApp in 2015.

Revathi Advaithi – Flex

BITS Pilani alumnus Revathi Advaithi was appointed the CEO of Flex, an American multinational electronics manufacturer, in 2019.

Anjali Sud – Vimeo

Anjali Sud became the CEO of Vimeo in 2017. She joined the company in 2014. She holds degrees from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Harvard Business School.
