People gets Rs1000 for pongal: Governor order

On the Pongal festival, Governor Banwarilal Purohit told the Legislative Assembly that except Tiruvarur district in tamilnadu all the ration card holders get thousand rupees prizes for all districts people.

The first session of the year of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly began today with the Speaker of the Governor. Governor Banwarilal Purohit, who started speech in Tamil, said good morning everyone, congratulating Happy New Year and living in a simple life.

The Governor also said that ration card holders can receive thousand rupees for pongal, as well as pudding, sugar, dry grapes, cashew, cardamom and sugarcane.
